Global Fund has closed the following 2 grants:

- Round 1 HIV/AIDS Grant No. TNZ-102-G02-H-00 ended on 31st October 2005

- Round 4 Malaria Grant No. TNZ-405-G08-M ended on 31st January 2009.

THE TNCM EXTRA-ORDINARY MEETING WAS HELD ON 7 DECEMBER 2009 AT THE PRIME MINISTERS OFFICE CONFERENCE ROOM AND THE MAIN AGENDA WAS TO ENDORSE THE FOLLOWING 4 KEY ITEMS:

(a)  Global Fund Round 3 Rolling Continuation Channel (RCC) Proposal

(b)  Global Fund Round 4 RCC - PACT

(c)  Request for Re-Programming of GFR7 grant No. TZN-708-G10 Malaria

(d)  Documentation of Lessons Learned from Supporitng the Local Government Authorities to Respond to HIV/AIDS in Tanzania

The Global Fund Board approved for funding the following Round 9 applications for Tanzania

• Malaria - Category 2B
• HSS - Category 2

Both applications will be funded for the first 2 years (Phase 1).

Applications for HIV/AIDS and TB were Not recommended for funding.

The Global Fund Board has approved the full 2 year period of AMF-m Phase 1 application for funding as Category 1, i.e. recommended with some or no issues identified for the Secretariat to take into account during the process of negotiation.

The Ordinary TNCM Meetings in the year 2010 are scheduled as follows:-

January 28th, 2010 - Dar es Salaam

April 29th 2010 - Dar es Salaam

July 29th 2010 - Dodoma

October 28th 2010 - Dar es Salaam
